15 month appointment

I can't believe I just posted that...Amelia had her FIFTEEN month appointment yesterday! Where has the time gone? She is a toddler now!
Anyway, our little Miss Amelia is 31 inches tall and weighs 22 pounds 5 ounces. Tall and skinny! Her pediatrician was very impressed with her vocabulary (35+ words, 6 body parts, and 10 animal sounds!) she can run, spin, jump (well, she thinks she is jumping!) climbs everything.....he said she is on or ahead of schedule! He said we are doing a great job and our little smartie pants is a happy healthy baby...I mean toddler!

Long overdue update!

Wow, it has been a long time since I updated this blog! I will try and and be better at updating you all on our little Amelia.
She is growing and changing so much everyday. It never ceases to amaze me the things that she is learning and doing now! She has about 35 or 40 words in her vocabulary, she knows 6 body parts and 10 animal sounds. She is running everywhere now, and is into EVERYTHING! She kisses everyone on command...and my favorite thing, every morning when I get her out of her bed, she wraps her chubby little hands around my neck and says "I love you!" This is such a great age!
This past week we have dropped down to 1 nap a day, which had made going to bed at night super easy! After about 2 weeks of screaming at bedtime, we are finally back to our normal happy, sleepy cuddly girl at night! She has also cut 2 more teeth on the top, 1 molar on the bottom, another on the way, and I felt a few other bumps in there!
I took Amelia to Nantucket to visit Deena and Pierce a few weeks ago. Amelia did great and loved being over there! It was her first little vacation. She had a little trouble going to sleep at night, but once she was down, she was out for the night. She loved being on the beach and in the ocean, and exploring Auntie Deena's house. She also was head over heels in love with little Pierce! She kissed (and licked) him over and over! Poor Pierce!!
Amelia also went on her first camping trip last weekend. She loved it in the white mountains, but, she wasn't crazy about sleeping in the tent, so it was a long night. She loved playing in the stream, and she LOVED going to Clark's to see the bears and riding the train! We only stayed over one night, and that was plenty for this year. We will definitely take her back next year!

Amelia will dance to any music she hears! This is her newest move. Sorry the camera is shaking...I couldn't stop laughing!

Memorial Day 2008

We had beautiful weather for our Memorial Day Weekend! We had a birthday party and a family cookout to go to...Amelia was exhausted by the end of it all! Here are some pictures!

"We don't eat our crib!!"

Yesterday when I went to get Amelia up from her nap, I discovered that she had been chewing on her crib rails!! She is quite the little beaver! Her perfect little crib now has perfect little toddler sized teeth marks all along the side rail!
So, I am off to the fabric store today to attempt to make some custom crib rails before we end up with a pile os splinters where ouor crib once was!

First Steps!!

Amelia started taking steps yesterday! Soon she will be all over the place!!

YUM! ice cream!

Our favorite ice cream stand opened this week! The weather has been gorgeous, so we took Amelia out for her first ice cream cone! She and I shared a vanilla ice cream. She wasn't so sure about taking bites out of it at first, but practice makes perfect, so we will have to keep trying!

Amelia was not feeling so great on Eatser....she is cutting a bunch of teeth. But, she had a great day anyway, and she looked beautiful!

Easter Bunny!

We took Amelia to Belkin Lookout Farm for an Easter Egg Hunt and to see the Easter Bunny! She loved him! We met our frineds Matthew and Elizabeth there too....it was a fun afternoon out for the kids!

Exhausted Baby!

We had to let Amelia cry herself to sleep tonight. Ever since we lowered her crib mattress all the way down, she has had trouble falling asleep. So, after 10 horrible minutes of listening to her cry, she finally wore herself out. I waited a few minutes, and I went in to check on her, and this is what I found! Poor girl!

Amelia is really getting the hang of crawling and is now starting to pull up on things! Look out world! Amelia Grace is on the move!

Crawling - FINALLY!

Amelia has been SO close to crawling, but she just never got going. Yesterday, she decided that she wanted the dog's ball, and she went for it! She is getting better and better at it...and moving faster and faster! YIKES! I will be chasing her around the house in no time!

9 Months Old!

I cannot believe how fast she is growing! She is just about crawling...she gets so frusterated, but is getting closer and closer to moving every day!
We had her 9 month check up today, and her pediatrician was very impressed by how well she is doing! He said everything looks great and to keep up the good work!

Peek-a-boo!

Amelia discovered that if she lifts up the bumpers in her crib, she can see what is going on in her room. So, I was ready yesterday morning! I snuck into her room with my camera and sat on the floor in front of her crib, and within second, Miss Nosey Nellie was lifting the bumper to see what was going on!

Stuck!!

Amelia has figured out how to push herself backwards, but she hasn't figured out how to go forward yet. This is what happened the other day when I let her go on her own! She got so frusterated that she was stuck and couldn't get out on her own. After I got her out, she pushed herself right back under there!! She did this severeal times that day!

Swim Lessons!

Little Miss Amelia has started taking swim lessons with her buddy Matthew. They are both doing so well and really seem to enjoy themselves! They all (mommies included) have to wear swim caps, which look really cute on the little ones. Here is our swimming beauty!
